SUNDAY, (June 1) at 9 am - Carol Ann Sayle of Boggy Creek Farm presents "Raising Backyard Chickens." (We will open the gates at 8:45 a.m. for class attendees only; the store & nursery do not open until 10 a.m.). Boggy Creek Farm (BoggyCreekFarm.com) is Austin's beloved urban organic farm, started by Larry Butler and Carol Ann Sayle in 1991. We are very pleased to host the (Ninth) Annual Free Chicken Seminar here! Chickens not only provide tasty, nutritious eggs, but they are also great pets: interesting, communicative, smart in their own way, and very humorous. The topics to be covered include: recommended size of flock, breeds of layers and their attributes, starting new chicks, feed sources, hen house design, chicken tractors, predators, roosters, and more! Knowing Carol Ann, this class is sure to please even the mildest chicken-lover! This class is likely to be longer than one hour.
Classes are subject to change. Please call first to confirm. Classes are held outdoors under an open air canopy (“The Revival Tent”) – please dress for the weather. Arrive early for best seating. You are welcome to bring your own chair. If possible, please park on Bell Drive, adjacent to the Tent.
If you would like sign language interpretation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week in advance. Volunteer interpretation provided courtesy of ACC students and others.
